The resort is completely self-sufficient
with all the necessary equipment for facility
maintenance and the repair of anything that
may need attention. There are also several
specialized
vehicles to serve specific roles within the
resort. A list of them and additional inventory
can be forwarded upon request. Although most
guests arrive via Tropic Air at the resort's
private 3000 foot paved airstrip located
on the property, the resort can also be accessed
via a 6-mile private road off the southern
highway.
In operation for 5 years now,
the resort has experienced steady growth
and enjoys solid occupancy levels due in
part to its superb service and excellent
cuisine. All staff members live on the property
during their work weeks with on-site accommodations
for up to 45 staff members. In addition,
there are several specialized buildings including
workshops, sheds and warehouses; plus a fully
insulated, climate controlled building for
storage of linens and various delicate items.
There are also refrigerated buildings for
perishables and a large assortment of fine
wines.
A complete
on-site dive shop featuring Mares dive gear
can also be found at Kanantik. Guests
are transported to the reef using 2 large
Newton dive boats. One is 42 feet and the
other 32 feet, both utilize Caterpillar 3208
diesel engines. Additionally, there is a
23-foot skiff with a new 60-hp Yamaha engine.
